Have original bloggers gone full circle?
The comfort and connection of 2014, ten years later.
This morning I was talking to my friend Katie about some of the blogs I used to be OBSESSED with back in the olden days. ‘Olden days’ being a mere ten years ago but in internet time, that’s eons. We talked about how we eagerly awaited every blog post and how one trendy New York mega-mom made me yearn for a pair of red saltwater sandals and book a flight to NYC, even though I never wear red and big cities overwhelm me!
Blogs of yesteryear were special. They felt like the perfect mix of best friend and glossy mag. They gave me good ideas (except the red sandals) for things I could try in my own small town life and gave me a window into a bigger world.
All that nostalgia made me miss the Sprinkle of Glitter days. I loved my blog. I loved the community it created and I loved just tiptapping away, pouring my thoughts out. It felt like a very comfortable home. I would love to have that again. Would you?
I don’t really know yet what this little app has to offer but I do know I’m excited to see what it can do. Can it bring the same joy the blogs of 2014 did? Will it garner the same warm, creative community we had before? I hope so.
I’m still getting to grips with this new place, as you know I’m not super tech savvy, but I’ll work it out and perhaps you’ll stick around for a while?
Let’s give it a whirl and find out!
Until then, you can find me on most social platforms as my full name, Louise Pentland, and I’m always glad to see you!

A part of me was looking for "aloha sprinklerinos" under the header! I loved your blog and I'm so excited to see what you have to share on here, looking forward to joining the substack community x
I am so excited to see you here Louise! I’ve been a reader since you were pregnant with Darcy! I’ve been missing Sprinkle of Glitter so much.
